• If I wake around 4am, I take one Asphalia which sends me back to sleep with no hangover when I wake” – Sarah Stacey, Health Editor,
YOU Magazine, The Mail on Sunday
• “I have found Asphalia to be highly effective at regulating sleep patterns, even when they are disrupted by jet lag”- Jennifer
Harper-Deacon, Sunday Times Health Journalist of the Year 2008
"Within a couple of days I noticed I was getting off to sleep more easily, sleeping more deeply, waking in the middle of the night less often..."
T. W., Arlesford
"I was so delighted to try your preparation. I have had the nicest sleep in years. I was awake at various times (due to unwell pet) but fell
peacefully back, not my normal I must say..." S.S., Haverford West
One in four of us
suffers from sleep disturbance of one form or another. Asphalia is a plant based natural food supplement which is proving to be a remarkable
breakthrough in restoring restful sleep. Supplied in vegetarian capsules, Asphalia is a naturally grown and carefully milled plant mix.
It contains an anti-oxidant five times as powerful as vitamin C. The circadian cycle is known to be regulated by the same bio-molecule which
helps to restore a restful nights sleep without disturbing vital sleep architecture. The three stage milling process employed to grind Asphalia
ingredients, which produces sub-micron particles, permits easier sublingual intake as well as preventing the proteins from becoming denatured.
This means the essential natural properties of the proteins remain intact and the active ingredients are easily absorbed into the bloodstream for a faster effect.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does Asphalia contain any animal matter?
No. Asphalia is entirely derived from plants and the encapsulation is via veg-caps, not gelatine made from animals. Asphalia is approved by the Vegetarian Society as suitable for vegans and is gluten-free.
Has Asphalia ever been tested on animals?
No. The laboratory has a strict policy of never carrying out experiments on animals.
Where is Asphalia made?
The main ingredient in Asphalia is grown and processed within estates in the countryside near Pontypool. Artificial fertilisers are never used on the
estates, nor have they been for the ten years prior to development of Asphalia. The plant material is cut and immediately dried very slowly in incubators
never exceeding 40 degrees Centigrade, so there is no protein degradation or denaturation.
How do you know Asphalia works?
Trials with human volunteers have been conducted and these have not only proved successful but also demonstrated an absence of side effects. One way that
Asphalia can be tested is in the laboratory by using the well known Griess reaction, a test for nitrate formation in aqueous solutions. Asphalia is shown to
prevent the build up of free radicals such as Nitric Oxide and their consequential nitrates which can be potentially damaging to health.
How does the product compare with the competition?
Most anti-oxidants are made using Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Melatonin is five times as powerful as Vitamin C and twice as powerful as Vitamin E. Asphalia
is probably 500 times as powerful as the synthetic antioxidants.
Are there any contraindications for Asphalia?
Melatonin is generally regarded as one of the safest bio-molecules around. With no known side effects, it was described by a Vice President of Eli Lily
as the ‘safest molecule in the whole of pharmacy’. Nevertheless, melatonin may make you drowsy so we recommend that users do not drive a vehicle or
operate machinery after ingestion. We also do not advocate administration to infants and very young children, since they should be sufficiently provided
by their own systems and there is a remote though unproven possibility that administration of exogenous melatonin may interfere with their normal development.
For the same reason children under 12 should only be given half a dose.
We also suggest avoiding melatonin if you are pregnant, especially in the last term of pregnancy. Again, there is no actual evidence, but since the
lactating mother provides melatonin to her new infant for some weeks, it is arguably wise to let nature take its course.
